This project involves the interior design for three types of prefabricated additional dwelling units (ADUs) to be permitted in the city of Westminister, CA, Orange County. The units are located on existing single-family residential lots and vary in size: the smallest model is 800 square feet, the second is 1,000 square feet, and the largest is 1,200 square feet.
The interior design scope for each unit will include, but not be limited to, the following elements:
1. Space Planning: Efficient use of the space available in each unit, considering the unique needs and lifestyle of the potential inhabitants.
2. Color Scheme & Aesthetics: Selection of a harmonious color palette and aesthetic style that aligns with the modern and minimalist design of the ADUs.
3. Furniture & Fixture Selection: Sourcing and selection of furniture and fixtures that complement the overall design theme, while ensuring functionality and comfort.
4. Lighting Design: Strategic placement of lighting fixtures to enhance the ambiance and usability of the space.
5. Material Selection: Choice of durable and sustainable materials for flooring, wall coverings, countertops, etc., keeping in mind the wear and tear in a rental unit.
6. Accessorizing: Final touches with accessories like artwork, cushions, rugs, etc., to personalize the space.
The project will be executed in phases, starting with a detailed consultation to understand the client’s requirements, followed by the design phase where the layouts and 3D renders will be created. Once the design is finalized, the procurement and installation of the furnishings and fixtures will commence. The project will conclude with a final walkthrough and handover.
The pricing for the project will be based on the size of the unit and the complexity of the design. It will include the cost of materials, furnishings, and fixtures, as well as the labor cost for the interior design work. The labor cost is calculated based on an hourly rate of $100.
